People on Mission For God

Last Sunday our Elders and Staff introduced our new mission/vision/values statement!  This statement and explanation is attached to this email.  Our mission continues to be about reaching those in our community that do not know Christ and to cultivate an atmosphere of spiritual growth as we come to understand that our lives are about living as missionaries in Mt Pleasant, Titus County, Texas.  Also attached is a population chart for our community according to the demographics of race, age and income.  You will find it interesting.   In 1983 , when Trinity was started our vision was to reach young people and young families.  This continues to be our vision.   We have done that with vibrant worship,  children and student ministries, Outreach Events and by creating an atmosphere of acceptance on our Church Campus.  In recent years we have moved our focus to off campus with a mentality of building the Kingdom of God by taking Jesus to the streets.  Now as we move to the future we are seeing that our congregation is aging but our community is not.  66% of the people who live in Mt Pleasant, Titus county, Texas are under the age of 45.  They are also almost 50% Hispanic.  It is our dream to reach these diverse young families with the gospel!  Therefore this fall we will make some important shifts in our weekly ministry;

  1. Our 11:00 am Sunday morning worship celebration will move to a more modern band driven feel!  Our 8:30 am service will continue in its already vibrant states!
  2. We will create and establish geographic based small groups in homes all over our community so that we can create and opportunity for reaching our lost and unchurched neighbors!  This will be our front door similar to the cell groups our High School students have on Wednesday nights.
  3. We will be forming a prayer team to undergird this effort and to bathe it in powerful prayer.

We will be training and equipping for this important endeavor this summer  and will launch this effort when school  starts!  It’s going to be our greatest hour!
